todays date: 11-23-04 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------- name: landon anderson age: 19 location: hastings/twin cities in minnesota years riding: 8 or 9 sponsors: allegory, empire b-team interests: art, riding, music, shows, individuality education: goin on a year and a half in college ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- random questions ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ how did you get involved in bike riding & at what age? My brother had a pink schwinn predator with a framestand bar. I started cruising around and learned framestands and endo’s and shit. Moved on to tailwip nosepicks on flat ground and eventually started hanging out with 18 years olds when I was 10 or so and hitting jumps and smoking cigs and shit. how often do you ride? Now- once every couple weeks. Summer- everyday. who where the last three people your rode with? Nendza, jonah, palmquist. what kind of music do you enjoy? Anything on tape. I drive about an hour a day and have in turn started a tape collection. Smiths, Morrissey, cure, Michael Jackson. More seriously, Hardcore, emo, pop-punk. All sorts of shit, too many bands to list. Lately it has pretty much been smiths. I found a sunny day real estate tape the other day so that has been played quite a bit. if you work, what do you do? I am an assistant for an artist in Minneapolis. I also work at and book shows for a bookstore in hastings. favorite things to ride(favorite skatepark, city with street, rails, transition, banks etc. ect.): favorite park is hastings park. The whole mentality there makes it fun. The PIT is great and is sorely missed. I like to ride curved walls and other street things that would reflect transitions and such. I like to try to ride things that shouldn’t be ridden. Shit that is hard to ride. I also love to ride trails, but I don’t get to do it very often. any other things you like to do besides bmx? Im an art major and I love to do ceramic work. im really into BMX photography and other such endeavors. Lately I have been getting the allegory site going and trying to get that set (thanks kyle) and trying to get funds soon to get the production started again. drink/smoke? Drink sometimes, smoke never. where do you see yourself in 20 years? I see myself being an art teacher and being too beat up to ride. Hopefully I will be wise and will have someone to love. what is midwestbmx.net to you, if anything? It used to be an annoying place because of the message board shit. Now it is a constantly evolving site that has shit going for it. It is also a site run by some great guys that I don’t see often enough. who has inpired you on a bike? Dirty dan, ryan boen, josh Nendza, all my hastings friends, kyle deitz. Many pro’s when I was young, but who wants to hear about them. what do you like to eat? im a vegetarian so I like to eat things not containing meat. Im in love with asian food. I have my restaurants that know my order by heart and I’m grateful for that. what are some tricks that you like to do? This will be no surprise to anyone who has seen me ride: turndowns, tailwips, tables when I buzz the back of my arm. I like to do shit that makes me scared, but makes me feel incredible when I pull it off. what do you think your riding style is like? I’d like to say that im aware of how my shit looks. I don’t allow any deuce rideouts or anything for that matter. I like things to look good and be done well. your car? ’92 chevy cavalier station wagon. Ac, tape player, broken power locks. do you enjoy going to contests? I like being loud and hanging out with my friends. If the contest isn’t a place where I can do this, then I don’t like them. I think that I ride better sometimes when im under the eye of many people, but I don’t go out of my way to put myself in that position. how many hours do you spend on a computer? I’d say like 8 hours a day. It is sad. My comp broke down the other day and I didn’t have it for the weekend. I didn’t really know what to do with myself cuz I thought I might have lost all my shit. Im becoming a techy…it is scary. favorite bike video & single video section? My favorite vid is prolly some old props from like 98 when it was my friend cody and I would sit and watch our videos all day long. I don’t know who has the best section, but lately I have been amazed every time I watch a vid. Big ups shout outs? I don’t know what you are asking for. I guess I will say thank you to all my friends and all the aforementioned riders for inspiring me to ride my bike. Thank you to all the people that support me in everyday life.
