random questions

how did you get involved in bike riding & at what age?I think I was 12 or 13 when I got my first BMX bike. It was a chrome GT Vertigo, my parents bought it for me for Christmas. I mostly used it as transportation but I soon learned that it meant much much more to me than just transportation. Nine years later it has gotten me not only from point A to point B but also point C, D, E, F, G and even more places that I never even dreamed of going!

how often do you ride? This totally varies depending on injuries and school but I’d say every other day on average but I try to ride everyday whether it’s just pedaling around doing manuals or a serious session.

who where the last three people your rode with?Ironically I’m hurt as I write this but the last people I rode with were Mark Hilson and a ton of other shredders at Undercover.

what kind of music do you enjoy? All types: right now I’m listening to Tom Petty but I like everything from Coldplay to At the Drive In to Jay-Z. Depends on what I’m in the mood for.

if you work, what do you do? I’m a full-time student right now but I do a lot of work outside of school in the ways of student groups and volunteering.

favorite things to ride(favorite skatepark, city with street, rails, transition, banks etc. ect.): Skateparks and street, I love to play on anything but there is nothing like a good rail!
any other things you like to do besides bmx?

drink/smoke? Drink: yes Smoke: no

where do you see yourself in 20 years? Haha, I plan for that far ahead but I don’t like to think about it too much! I try to cross the bridge before I come to it but all I can say is that I’ll be smiling!

what is midwestbmx.net to you, if anything? Midwestbmx is an awesome, long-overdue part of our scene here in WI and beyond! It’s a great way for all of us to come together!

who has inpired you on a bike? Wow, where do I begin: All the Baco guys inspired me since I was a little tyke (Freimuth, Degroot, Rye, Hilson, Fluette, etc.) and they still inspire me to this day! Others include Van Homan, John Heaton, Jay Miron and Cory Martinez. Andy Kent and anyone who doesn’t let an injury stand in the way of their love for riding.

what do you like to eat? Sushi, pizza, Mexican, pretty much anything you put in front of me I’ll take care of it!

what are some tricks that you like to do? I love rail tricks, front wheel tricks, jumping (even though I don’t do it as much as I would like) and barspins.

what do you think your riding style is like?
I’m not sure how to describe my own style, this is a hard one! I would say that I am always trying to do something new or something I’ve never done before. I don’t like to limit myself but sometimes I can get carried away and push it too far. I’m not the most dialed rider but I think that is because I don’t do the same tricks everyday. Hopefully someday that will change. I like to do a combo of tech tricks and burly tricks if I’m feeling up to it.

your car? 1997 Honda Civic (Dream car: Audi)

do you enjoy going to contests? I love going to contests not for the competition aspect but I like to go to see all of my friends and see what other people are doing. Contests can be stressful and I am not into that part of it but the good definitely outweighs the bad. A good ol’ roadtrip or street session is just as fun though.
how many hours do you spend on a computer? Haha, unfortunately a lot lately since school has been hectic and I have been unable to ride for the last couple weeks.

favorite bike video & single video section? Any Baco video, Criminal Mischief, Props, System, Shook. My favorite section is still Van Homan’s in Criminal Mischief, it came out years ago and still blows my mind. In a close second is Chris Doyle’s in the System video and Steven Hamilton in Animal.

shout outs? Dave Freimuth, Chad Degroot, and Chris Rye- I can’t thank those guys enough for all they have done for me. My parents are the best! Mandy (Mike H. and Andy K.) DK and all the guys @ System, Ron @ UGP, Povah @ Etnies, Matt@ Profile, Rich and the Madison crew, 4seasons, Favre, Suzi, JT, Undercover, Woodward, anyone I ride with and most of all Dom, Jeff and MidwestBMX for wanting to do this!
